ICE – News no.2 (Burner installation – Weishaupt)

ICE and ICT have a long-term relationship with the Norwegian cruise and ferry line owner "Color Line" resulting in repair, service and upgrading of the boilers onboard several of their vessels over the past years.

Most recently this resulted in a contract to design, supply and fit new burner and control system to the two Sunrod CPDB 45 oil fired boilers onboard the GT 34417 "Color Festival".

From our previous service and repair to the boilers, our engineering dept. was very well informed of the condition as well as the layout of the system. This was a great advantage in securing the contract in direct competition with other esteemed boiler companies / burner manufacturers.

Our proposal was for the well-known and reliable "Weishaupt" burners operating on MDO / HFO in combination with ICE's own design and manufacture of control system.

The installation was carried out by ICE's engineers without interrupting the schedule of the vessel, which performs one roundtrip between Norway and Denmark every day.

We are proud to say that the installation was carried out well ahead of the planned schedule, - not least due to a very smooth cooperation with the crew.

The performance of the new system fulfils all expectations and requirements in the contract as well as of the crew onboard and we are confident that the system will serve the vessel for many years to come.
